Experience
I graduated from the College of Holy Cross where I received my bachelor's degree in English, literature, Russian, and eastern European studies. Currently, I am working toward acquiring my master's degree in education. While in college, I taught English, Chinese, and Thai to students of varying ages. I also helped prepare my students for international exams along with preparing them for their immigration interviews. I have worked with students of all skill levels, ranging from general education to special education. My students give me the inspiration I need to continue on with teaching. I enjoy helping them channel their creativity, build their self esteem, and increase their academic confidence. As for my teaching style, I firmly believe in building strong and healthy friendships with my students. I enjoy getting to know them. Once I get to know them, I begin to understand the ways that I can get them to be motivated and interested in what they're being taught. I work hard to challenge my students. I have them set their own goals and take risks in their academic careers. When I am not teaching, I spend time searching for awesome reads. I also enjoy taking long walks with my pup, and studying Mandarin Chinese (which I will need to know when I travel to Asia in the near future).
